Sometimes I tell the voice in my head that I know better, and allow my desires to over rule my gut.

Cocky isn’t the right term, selfish isn’t either, but both certainly come to mind in these situations.

especially when I know I only have me to blame for the results.
alternately, it kinda comes with the territory.
if you wanna make an omlette, you gotta crack some eggs.
and its no different in boxing.
..or to anything else in life for that matter.

I’ve been on hiatus due to Taking Care of Business.

Sparring took place and ya gyal got a swift – and much needed beating.
Casualties include a bruised rib, and soreness around my hairline and nose.
Back to the school of hard knocks – learning is always a continual process.
Time to put in more work at the gym.

Tattooed all weekend long, consequently making every client I touched elated with their new addition, despite my own challenges of having a trying day. Tattooing just does that to me, it soothes my soul and making someone else happy when I feel like I’m suffering is a humbling and enlightening experience I’m grateful for every time it shows me the way.

Speaking of soul food, the opportunity finally arose for me to hook up with true blue homeboy, Jaelen for a latenight “our-style” randezvous, which included greekfood around my hood, The Danforth, and verbal food for thought. I say our-style because back in the day, him and I used to pull mad all nighters consistently, putting in work. He’s a brother to me – we’ve done everything together, he’s seen me cry, laugh, high, and come back from the dead multiple times and kept his respect for me through all of it. I love seeing that gatto cos he always brings exactly what my soul’s been needing. i can only hope that the universe will bring our paths together again on a more consistent basis.

I’ve got 11 more days of school til Xmas break, and I swear I will not break.
